After 8 years with us, Bill Bailey was diagnosed with allergies and “summer heaves”. In 2014 it seemed to progress to pneumonia, but a chest X-ray revealed both lungs were fully compromised with virus, fungus or cancer. As all were untreatable, we ended his pain. UGA called back to ask if they could transplant Bill’s intestine into a horse with a GI tract infection. We’re happy to find out that horse is recovering well, so Bill was able to give even after death.
He was an amazing horse, friend, and teacher. Scotsgrove won’t be the same without him.
